This Sunday's Hitchcock Film Forum (Cinetastic!)
This weekend's Hitchcock film is the 1940 classic "Rebecca" - we'll be going to the 4:00pm showing. This is Hitchcock's first American film and marks the point in the Hitchcock Sunday series where the director's style really kicks in. This one won the 1940 Oscar for best picture, and is a lot of fun - it's very atmospheric and has some amazing shots. This is one of my favorite images from the movie:

Dodge: I understand. If there's a Sunday you can make (cuz they're on every Sunday) let me know. Or better yet, call one of the Mankatoans who might be coming up for the event (Chad, Erin, Jess, Christina, Sween, etc.) and catch a ride with them. These films are a blast to see on the big screen!
Erin: I'm glad you'll be at this one - I know you'll love it. As for groping, you may be right. The film is very moody and more a horror film on a psychololgical level. I guess if pressed, I'd call it a gothic romance. I'll love to hear your comments at the post-film shin-dig!
Jean: Yes, you must come. It's at 4:00 - call me if you get lost on your way to Oak Street. I'll be interested to see what you think of the difference between "39 Steps" and this one - you'll notice a huge change in production values!
(Did everyone notice how I so freely used exclamation points as if I were a perky freshman?! I tried to include one in each response! I'm like so cool!)
I suppose I could tear myself away from the Mall just long enough to view a film. Notice how I capitalized "Mall"? That's cause it's important!:)
Kristin - You may freely capitalize Mall as long as you don't resort to art museum-esque abbreviations (such as MOA).
Ohh, that is a good one. We saw it in high school when we had to read the book... it was kind of funny, actually, because the cover of the book screamed "romance novel" (with, like, red velvet draped behind embossed gold script lettering) and probably half of the guys in the class were too embarassed to be seen with it to read it... good times, good times.

Matt - I promise never to abbreviate Mall Of America. The only abbreviation I am currently fond of is "BMF." See Samuel L Jackson's character JULES in PULP FICTION for details.

I don't think I will make it up this weekend . . . I'll be sitting at a booth for KMSU at the Solstice Event in Mankato that afternoon. Hopefully I can make it up next weekend.
