Hanko

I bought a book on Japanese painting so I could try a different style. The beginning of the book shows how to carve a hanko which is the red stamp people use for official documents, art, and other things - it's a kind of personal signature. Luckily this book had pictures to show me how to make one out of an eraser. I made 4. Here's the result:

You should know we're planning the Christmas party, but the house won't be nearly as warm without you. :(

Miss you, Matty. Jenny, Christina and I spent some time tonight making a list of things that we need to do before we leave Mankato--and once you come back, you'll be helping us to complete that list. Fun, huh?!

Very cool. My wife actually took a couple of classes on Sumi-i (sp?). We now have paintings of bamboo and leaves adorning all the walls in the back room of our house.
