At the behest...

...of Michel, I am posting this blog to let everyone know that I was on the other side of the Twin Cities when the I35 highway bridge collapsed over the Mississippi river yesterday in Minneapolis. My family and I are all safe. Nevertheless, it's a sad day here in Minnesota as the recovery mission is underway and families and friends wait.

I've Been Remiss...

...in not posting with any regularity, so I will post pictures here now.

But as I am still feeling a bit of remissness hanging about, you will only receive minimal commentary on them.

And as they are attempts to be artistic, if successfully done, they should need little commentary anyway.

Concert and Bubble Tea

I played viola da gamba in a small ensemble today at the MIA for family day. Several friends stopped by which was fun: Kristin, Christy, Becky, Ken, Katy, and her friend Brenda. I felt the love even when I hit some sour notes. I am most happy that there were no pictures of me wearing my all black ensemble with dark green oversized vest (Thank you, thrift store!). Those in the "spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" category were Rick and Chad, both of whom fell asleep - Rick left a very nice phone message to let me know (thanks, pal. I know you tried to make it), and Chad-"race against the music"-Kuyper sped up to Mpls. with Jess to try and make it on time. then we went out to Brits for dinner and to the Tea Garden for bubble tea. Here is a pic I took with my new digital cam:

Happy Christmas, Harry!

Exhausting weekend in which I got nothing done. So somehow between now and Wed. I have to finish portfolios, write an eight page paper and revise a 14 page one for Donna. Of course what I did this weekend instead of all that work was far more interesting. Christina and I led Jean, Jenny, Chad, and Liz through the Snow White display. I've explained it before, and now I'm glad Xtina's putting pictures up on her site to prove how queer it all was. This second trip allowed Christina and I to dig deeper into the story and discover the subtle nuances in each tableau - Nugent's 5 O'clock shadow, his be-jewelled belly, Snow White's father laughing maniacally. The best part of the whole event was the company I was keeping. This was really the first time I'd gottten to hang out with Jenny, and Jean's a fairly new friend as well. After unsuccessfully trying to find a place to eat in the downtown Mpls. area, we ventured to Cossetta's in St. Paul, wore the silly paper crowns from our crackers from Brits, ate some excellent Pizza, and then headed out.
