Picture post!

First of all, I can never see what's what before I upload, so I'm just throwing up a bunch of photos and then talking about them. Once I get the Internet hookup at my apartment, I should be able to keep up better with my photos.

Okay these first four pics are of an Aikido master who gave a demonstration my first week.
Here's my wonderful niece and nephews hamming it up in front of the camera.

These are some pics from training week at a ramen shop. Those in attendance? Chris, Kurt, Kenny, Kevin, Rich, and Matt R. An awsome night of big bowls of ramen and huge bottles of biru!

Here's som pics from the night we went out after the last day of training - lots of eating and drinking and singing and mic hogging happened.

Two random pictures of my apartment in Utsunomiya - what I cook on and what I bathe and shower in - you can guess which is which.
The poster we made at the end of our training week.
My washing machine and sink and vanity in Utsunomiya.
My training group.
Kevin sensei having a zen moment.

The rest are pics from nights out, pachinko parlours and walking with my brother, sister-in-law, and their kids through the Shinjuku and Shibuya areas of this HUGE city. I know this isn't too much of a commentary, but I'm getting sleepy.

HI MATTY I MISS YOU! I love those pictures! It is so nice to see little snippets of your world over there! And I am overusing the exclamation point again! Yes!

Findlaw isn't the same without you.

Amazing photos, Matt. You have the cutest niece and nephews ever.

And, it looks like you're wearing the tie I got you in that picture! Hooray! You are a fashion hit in Japan.

...I'm sure Brandon from men's WEARhouse would be proud of you.

You should take more photos of yourself. I couldn't see how beardless you were in that picture.

Matty,

I was going to write something really profound, but Jess summed up everything I was thinking.

Hope you're having fun!

P.S. I also think that your word verification should be in Japanese script instead of lame Arabic.

Your training class was heavily male. I think that my class was a bit more evenly split by gender. That "let one male and one female go forth and multiply knowledge of English in each school" mantra of AEON probably means that there will be a future class where females dominate. Perhaps AEON doesn't try to have each gender represented?

I loved traveling to Tokyo on weekends. It was about 70 minutes by train from my house to Ueno Station in Tokyo. It's great you have family there to show you around. I typically went to museums, stores, restaurants, and parks. Shinjuku has great ethnic restaurants hidden away in the office towers connected to the underground mall. Be careful that you don't stray too far into the red light district of Shinjuku at night. Although Japan is extremely safe, organized crime, especially those controlled by Chinese gangs, is present in Shinjuku.

My mistake about your training class. This time I looked at the group photo and am glad to see that AEON is true to its commitment to equal representation by gender.
